PRIVACY POLICY
How we handle the information you share with us
Last Updated: August 2026
This policy explains what personal information ANANDO collects through this website, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what rights you have. It applies to www.anando-bd.org only; information collected in person or through our field programmes is governed by our internal data protection policy.
1Who we are
ANANDO is a non-government development organization registered in Bangladesh and headquartered in Dhaka. For anything relating to this policy or your personal data, contact us at info@anando-bd.org.
2Information we collect
We only collect information you choose to give us. That is: your name, email address, subject and message when you use the contact form; the answers and files you supply when you apply for a job or submit a tender; your name and email address when you register a donation enquiry; your email address if you join our mailing list; and whatever you write in a complaint or feedback report, including any file you attach. We do not run advertising trackers and we do not buy or sell personal data.
3Anonymous complaints
Reports submitted through our accountability mechanism are anonymous by default. When you submit one, we deliberately do not record your IP address, browser, device or any other identifying signal — only the text and any file you send. Contact details on that form are optional; if you leave them blank we have no way of identifying you, which is why we give you a reference code to quote if you want to follow up.
4Why we use your information
To reply to your enquiry; to assess a job or tender application; to acknowledge and process a donation; to investigate a complaint and tell you the outcome where you have asked for a reply; and to send you updates if you asked to receive them. We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.
5Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your information. We share it only with the service providers that host this website and store its files and data on our behalf, and with donors, auditors or regulators where we are contractually or legally required to do so. Our providers process data under contract and may store it outside Bangladesh.
6How long we keep it
Contact messages and donation enquiries are kept for up to two years. Unsuccessful job and tender applications are kept for up to one year after the deadline unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Complaint records are kept for up to five years so that patterns of concern can be identified. Mailing list entries are kept until you unsubscribe.
7Cookies
This site uses only the cookies required for it to work — chiefly a session cookie that keeps an administrator signed in to the content management system. We do not use advertising or third-party analytics cookies. Maps and videos embedded from Google or YouTube are loaded from those services and are subject to their own privacy policies.
8Children
This website is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 through it. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
9Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, or ask us to delete it. Write to info@anando-bd.org and we will respond within 30 days. Note that we cannot action a request relating to an anonymous complaint unless you can quote its reference code, because we have no other way to locate it.
10Security
Access to submitted data is restricted to authorised ANANDO staff through password-protected administrator accounts, and data is transmitted over encrypted connections. No online service can be guaranteed completely secure, so please do not send us sensitive information you would not want stored.
11Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services or the law change. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
