ANANDO maintains a robust Accountability Mechanism to ensure that all stakeholders — including communities, staff, partners, and donors — can raise concerns and provide feedback safely and confidentially.

Available at all ANANDO field offices and project sites
Eligible Reports
- Misuse of funds or assets
- Sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (SEAH)
- Fraud or corruption
- Violation of beneficiary rights
- Child safeguarding concerns
- Environmental harm
- Staff misconduct
- Discrimination or retaliation
Ineligible Reports
- General programme quality feedback (use feedback boxes or community meetings)
The Process
Report Received
All reports receive an acknowledgment within 3 working days. Anonymous reports are fully accepted and protected.
Eligibility Assessment
Within 10 working days, the Accountability Focal Point assesses eligibility, urgency, and assigns an investigation team.
Investigation
Independent investigation conducted with strict confidentiality. All parties have the right to be heard and respond to findings.
Resolution & Follow-up
Findings communicated to the complainant (where identity is known) within 30 working days. Corrective actions tracked and documented.
Protections for Reporters
- Anonymity fully respected — reports can be made without identifying yourself
- Anti-retaliation policy: any retaliation against a good-faith reporter is itself a serious violation
- All reports handled by trained Accountability Focal Points
- External escalation supported — complaints can be escalated to relevant government bodies or donor accountability mechanisms
